Connecting disintegrating at the same time

Connecting disintegrating at the same time  The pandemic continues to  dramatically affect  our lives, including our relationships with other people in our communities, our families, our homes, and our workplace Amidst this pandemic, I believe we have realized the true values of traveling, meeting someone personally. This is because nowadays I believe we are the exact contrary of what we were before the lockdown. Before we wanted to keep ourselves isolated, keep ourselves so engrossed in the technology that we kept losing out on something which was the most valuable. Like talking to our parents, keeping up with the rest of the world exploring new places trying new things but we kept reverting back to the one piece of technology Now that we have nothing else but our phone and the whole day, we are beginning to apprehend. But as I always say make the best you can out of what you have. By technology expanding exponentially, every person on the creation is connected to ...

Mental Health in lockdown

For the single mother in South Sudan, COVID-19 lockdown measures have paused her small business that brings food to the table. For the domestic worker in Guatemala, the pandemic has meant no job and no unemployment benefits or other protection. For countless women in economies of every size and losing income, unpaid care and domestic work burden have exploded. So the questions that I'm trying to portray is that what was the role of technology in resolving these problems  COVID-19 pandemic and mental health consequences: Systematic review of the current evidence COVID-19 patients displayed high levels of PTSS and increased levels of depression. Patients with preexisting psychiatric disorders reported worsening of psychiatric symptoms. Higher levels of psychiatric symptoms were found among health care workers. A decrease in psychological well-being was observed in the general public. However, well-conducted large-scale studies are highly needed. How is the COVID-19 pandemic impacting...

Technology And Working Women

Technology And Working Women in the Pandemic  57% of women in tech feel burned out at work this year, compared to 36% of men. Women in tech are nearly twice as likely as men to have lost their jobs or been furloughed due to the pandemic. 72% of women in tech have worked at a company where bro culture is pervasive. 78% of women in tech feel they have to work harder than their coworkers to prove their worth. Women in tech are 4X more likely than men to see gender bias as an obstacle to promotion. 39% of women see gender bias as a barrier to promotion in 2021. Women of color are less confident than white women about their promotion prospects—and that gap has increased by 3X over the past year. 37% of women of color in tech feel that racial bias is a barrier to development. These were the basic statistics that would help give an overview of the status of the women over this pandemic. Women are divided into various categories, therefore it's necessary to take each one into conside...

pandemic jokes

Why did the chicken cross the road?  Because the chicken behind it didn’t know how to socially distance properly. Two grandmothers were bragging about their precious darlings. One of them says to the other, “Mine are so good at social distancing, they won’t even call me.” Who’s idea was it to sing “Happy Birthday” while washing your hands? Now every time I go to the bathroom, my kids expect me to walk out with a cake. My husband purchased a world map and then gave me a dart and said, “Throw this and wherever it lands—that’s where I’m taking you when this pandemic ends.” Turns out, we’re spending two weeks behind the fridge. Ran out of toilet paper and started using lettuce leaves. Today was just the tip of the iceberg, tomorrow  romaines  to be seen. My  mom always told me I wouldn’t accomplish anything by lying in bed all day. But look at me now, ma! I’m saving the world! After  years of wanting to thoroughly clean my house but lacking the time, this wee...

TECHNOLOGY FRIEND OR FOE DURING LOCKDOWN MY VIEWS AS A COMMUNITY

First I would like to wish for the safety of all the people amidst the lockdown. Technology now is expanding its field of use like never before. Ideas that we thought were impossible are now being implemented on a global scale. There is no denying that this pandemic is catastrophic to mankind but during times like these shouldn't we focus on what we DONT have INSTEAD what can we make better of something we have. Id likes to explain to you to what extent technology has helped humanity in the pandemic and lockdown by empathizing with the life of various people. THIS IS BECAUSE WE CANNOT TAKE SOMETHING AS ADVANTAGEOUS TO THE COMMUNITY AS LONG AS ITS NOT AN ASSET TO EVERY PERSON. My life as a student community as a whole - I believe that my life as a student has changed to a lot of extents. I'm right now in a dilemma whether this change has increased my potential to learn or were still where we were a few years back or even worse we have degraded. After pondering on this thought an...
